SB4 CARBON
SB4 Carbon
The ORC/IRC Champion
The idea was born from our iconic SB20 when in 2020 we were tasked to build a new boat that would be able to competitively race at ORC & IRC events, and with that the first SB4 was built and delivered to Switzerland in 2021.
The SB4 boast is a full Carbon Fiber Hull, Carbon Rig and Gennaker Pole, with the Larger Sails it creates the perfect balance of fast, fun sailing! The complete boat weighs only 545kg, 140kg lighter than the SB20 which gives it electric performance and speeds.
In a true testament to its exceptional capabilities, the SB4 went on to win the ORC European Championship in 2022, solidifying its status as a high-performance racing machine.

SB4 Deck
The SB4 features an ergonomic cockpit design, inspired by the time-tested solutions of the SB20, ensuring both comfort and efficiency. Designed for a crew of three, the cockpit prioritizes simplicity as its core principle, enhancing safety and performance during the most demanding maneuvers. The rig is optimized to support a square top mainsail and large headsails, maximizing the weight-to-sail area ratio for superior speed and agility.

SB4 BOAT – A TURBO CHARGED SB20
TThe SB4 is a carbon fibre version of the SB20 boat and I had the privilege of steering it to victory at the 2022 ORC Sportsboat European Championship. This high-performance boat features an increased sail area and excels in light wind, reaching 5 knots in just 3 knots of breeze. It starts plaining at 12 knots, showing an impressive 23 knots of speed
It requires a more athletic approach than the SB20, particularly with hiking, but the reward is a significant speed differential. The carbon fibre rig adds further to its appeal, offering a responsive, lightweight structure that enhances overall performance. When racing off the wind, the SB4 truly comes alive showcasing remarkable acceleration and power. I think this boat will be an ideal choice for racing in mixed IRC/ORC fleets, where it can easily overtake many other classes, when handled well by helm and crew. A born winner…
