The SB4 Carbon is the ORC SportsBoat European 2022 Champion!
In October we travelled to Sistiana in Italy for the 2022 ORC Sportsboat European Championships. With 4 days of racing we matched the our first build of the SB4 Carbon up against Melges 24’s Viper 640, Este 24’s, SB20 and many more. From day one of sailing we knew this boat was fast, doing almost 5 knots in 3 knots of wind was a first indication and the first day of racing proved our thoughts! we finished 2nd on the first days coastal race a 24NM race around the bay of Sistiana, beating the likes of a Corsa 915 and Melges 24’s across the water and on corrected time! The final 3 days consisted of inshore races, standard windward leeward courses, this allowed us to see the true competitiveness of our build and really test the boat to its limit around the course and against the fleet.
Over the week we had very consistent results and found ourselves winning the event by 3 points going into the final day, and the SB4 was really starting to turn heads and it was rewarded when we were confirmed the winners of the ORC 2022 Europeans!
We set out to design a ORC/IRC competitive boat, the SB4 proves and delivers on that promise!
