Sportsboatworld & SB20 Ireland announce Rope Dock as the new dealer for Ireland
Rope Dock has been establishing itself within the Irish sailing scene in recent years, offering extensive products and running rigging solutions to a wide variety of customers. Sportsboat and one-design racing have become a particular strong point; having been involved with the 1720 class for several years, the big brother of the SB20, and also supporting the J80 and J109 fleets, adding the SB20 dealership is a great fit for all parties.
Rope Dock is excited about providing top service and improved availability of parts for the class where previously everything had to come from abroad.
“Having someone on the ground locally and able to provide ongoing and event support will help the fleet in Ireland immensely. It is a massive step forward to have the big ticket item spares in stock in Ireland – specifically mast, boom, pole and rudder – ensuring teams can get straight back on the water after breakages. With the worlds in 2023 penned in for the National Yacht Club we will be working together to grow the class in the coming years.”
John Malone, SB20 class president.
“It’s our belief that improved service will foster more sailing and bigger fleets. We will be working to have supply of critical spares readily available and will also be able to work with customers to provide some bespoke rigging and finishing’s where desired. We already have similar relationships with the 1720 and J80 fleet so we will be up to speed quickly in what items will be needed to keep the Irish fleet out racing.”
Ross McDonald, Rope Dock
“Sportsboat World are very pleased to have Rope Dock on board as the new SB20 dealer for Ireland. Having a dedicated supplier in the marine business holding a wide range of class specific spares in stock for the Irish SB20 fleet, Ross will be able to offer a more personal and prompt service and regatta support to the locals fleets, which has been a difficult task from our base in the UK. This is a perfect addition to his business and a great opportunity to build up the SB20 fleet ahead of the WC on home soil in 2023”
Simon Russell, Sportsboat World Managing Director
