Leaky Boat?

If you are getting water in your boat you should have a quick look at the attached video. To remedy most of these you need some acetone to clean the surfaces,a tube of silicone and a bit of time! The only parts worth considering buying to fix most leaks would be the hatch seals as they do perish with time. The other suspects for leaking that we don’t show in the video are the rudder gudgeons and the pole outhaul and tack line blocks which are located under the mast gate…they tend to “work” over time and oversize the hole. With water always running down the pole tunnel you can get a lot of water in even through these tiny holes. Main hatches tend to leak also…you can re seal the hatches which is quite a big job or, I have seen quite a few boats tape a plastic flap over the hatch which diverts any water straight through the boat.Leak test video here.
